Hearing Test app for iPhone and iPad
Hearing Test is a fun and easy to use hearing test app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
This hearing test plays 8 tones at different frequencies. If you cannot hear all of the frequencies or notice a distinct volume change, you may have a hearing loss.
Humans can generally hear sounds with frequencies between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz although this range varies significantly with age and gender. The majority of people can no longer hear 20,000 Hz by the time they are teenagers and progressively lose the ability to hear higher frequencies as they get older.
Please note that this app is for entertainment purposes only. It is not a diagnostic test and should not replace regular audiometric testing provided by recognized professionals.
Pros and cons of Hearing Test app for iPhone and iPad
Hearing Test app good for
Deaf people should not rate this app. If your hearing is shot, you will not hear anything.
It works exactly as discribed. I am 27 and could hear the 25 and up age range/frequencies. I let my brother try it he is 35, and he could hear 35 and up. My mom is 55 and she could barely hear the 50, and could clearly hear the 60. To the previous review, I think you could not hear anything because you have bad hearing, not because it is a bad app, you should see a doctor.
This has been fun to play with and see how bad friends hearing is.
I realy like this game! I also think that it is cool because when I was at my grandpas to sleepover I hit the "Everyone" button and one if his cats came running up to me and it was realy cool! Oh I almost forgot! I would like this game a lot more if they had more ages for Hearing Test like, 70and up or 80 and and some of those.
Works great and lets you manually set the frequency, instead of just playing a sound byte.
Also, a lot nicer UI than the others.
Would be cool if it had a way for it to slide down automatically so you could tell it where you stop hearing the sound.
Some bad moments
Ive paid... And program doesnt function... Bas program or defect of software downloaded to my iPhone.
To test your hearing you need more than just hearing or not hearing a tone. I would have liked relative ability to hear the test tones plus a graph plotting my results. Plus there could be more coverage of tones between 3000 and 8000 hz.
I agree with the first reviewer I can only hear a tone with the top button (8000 Hz). And before any fellow reviewers start urging me on to the audiologist, I tried the competitors product "Audiometry", and I can hear the same frequencies just fine. Its not my ears its the app.
This program doesnt work at all. It plays the first tone and nothing after.
Maybe its the 2.2 update. Disappointing because I wanted this to work so much.
Only those frequencies which are labeled on each age category can be heard on this app. That means no frequencies lower than those labeled can be heard at all....at least not on my iPhone. Was I suppose to reboot my iPhone before running this app for the first time?
Would appreciate some feedback from the developer on this.

The app doesnt make any sense, and the tones click. Dont waste 99 cents on it. The EarTest app is much better.
